History Of The Flight Academy

TFA was started by Steve Tanner in 1991.

Steve started the company out of the Saugeen Municipal Airport. At the Saugeen Municipal Airport the office was located at terminal building which use to be a portable. At that time he only had one Cessna 172 GPVI. PVI use to be hangared in the "T" hangars at the south end of the field. In 1994 the new terminal building was built, and Steve acquired updated office space. PVI was still hangared down at the "T" hangars on the south end of the field.

In 1999 it was time for TFA to expand so Steve purchased some property at the north end of the airport where he built the much needed new up to date facility for flight training. The new facility included office space, briefing and debriefing room as well as a room to teach ground school and hangar space for the airplane.

In 2009 the flight school was busy enough to bring in a second airplane.
